Migros has informed the Zurich Cantonal Laboratory and the Federal Food Safety and Veterinary Office (BSV) that Salmonella has been detected in the Alnatura ground tigernuts. Since a health hazard cannot be ruled out, the BSV recommends not consuming the affected product. Migros immediately recalled the product, which removed the goods from sale.
Salmonella are bacteria (zoonotic pathogens) that cause diseases in humans and animals. In humans, fever and digestive problems such as vomiting, diarrhea and abdominal pain can occur about 6 to 72 hours after consumption. Persons who have consumed this product should seek medical advice if the above symptoms occur.
The following product is affected: Alnatura tigernuts, ground (225g), barcode: 4104420224254, Best before: 02/12/2022, 03/22/2022, 05/20/2022, 07/15/2022 and 09/14/2022; Points of sale: Migros branches throughout Switzerland, incl. Alnatura branches.
